Job summary

Quincy Medical Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to work under a licensed Physical Therapist in an outpatient orthopedic setting in Quincy, IL. The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.

You will implement treatment plans, guide patients through exercises, educate on home programs, document in the EMR, and collaborate with care teams to support recovery and long-term wellness.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current Illinois Physical Therapist Assistant license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Previous orthopedic rehabilitation experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans established by a licensed Physical Therapist.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and rehabilitation programs.
  • Monitor patient response to treatment and communicate progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, treatment goals, injury prevention, and home exercise plans.
  • Accurately document patient treatments, responses, and progress in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with maintaining a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment.
  • Collaborate with Physical Therapists, providers, and other healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care.
  • Promote patient engagement and adherence to rehabilitation plans.
  • Maintain equipment and treatment areas according to department standards.
