Responsibilities

• Perform components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks under supervision; assist physical therapists in improving mobility, relieving pain, and preventing disabilities.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and modalities according to the care plan.
• Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in functional activities like ambulation and daily living.
• Observe, assess, and report patient responses and progress.
• Fit, adjust, and train patients in orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices.
• May perform clerical duties.
• Promote professional customer service and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Document patient care, complete peer reviews, and utilize hospital information systems.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• Associate’s Degree from an approved PTA program.
• No previous experience required.

Required Licensure and Certifications

• Current Texas State Licensure (PTA).
• CPR/BLS certification.
• Graduates eligible for licensure will be considered.
