A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant for their PACE Program in Los Angeles. The PTA will collaborate with a Physical Therapist to provide high-quality care for elderly participants, conducting assessments, implementing treatment plans, and ensuring patient safety. Ideal candidates will have an associate degree in PTA, a passion for working with seniors, and strong communication skills.
*Position Summary:*
Join our team in a rewarding environment where you’ll help support frail elderly participants within our PACE Program. Under the direct supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will assist with assessments, implement treatment plans, and support participant care both onsite and, occasionally, during home visits.
*Responsibilities:*
* Assist Physical Therapist with participant assessments and treatment plans.
* Implement individualized therapy programs under PT supervision.
* Educate participants, caregivers, and staff on therapy techniques and adaptive equipment.
* Document care activities and participant progress in a timely, accurate manner.
* Support minor equipment repairs, maintenance, and inventory control.
* Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings and care plan development.
* Promote safety and use appropriate body mechanics during therapy activities.
* Provide minor training in body mechanics and adaptive device usage.
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance at all times.
* Contribute to Quality Improvement initiatives and department operations.
*Requirements/Qualifications:*
* *Education:* Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program.
* *Experience:* Minimum of one year working with a frail elderly population preferred; completion of three 8-week clinical rotations (preferably with geriatric experience).
* *Skills/Knowledge:*
* Understanding of physical, psychosocial, and behavioral needs of elderly populations.
* Knowledge of PTA practice boundaries and safety guidelines.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team setting.
* Basic computer skills required.
* *Other Requirements:*
* Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
* Must possess strength and endurance for job demands.
* Must be dependable, flexible, and enjoy working with a diverse senior population.

Pay: $48.00 - $52.00 per hour
