Job summary

Performance Ortho is a New Jersey-based orthopedic and outpatient care leader seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our Somerset/Watchung clinics. This full-time, in-person role supports Physical Therapists, conducts assessments, and guides patients through therapy plans in a patient-first culture.

Ideal candidates hold an active NJ PTA license, are graduates of accredited PTA programs, and bring 1–3 years of PTA experience (new grads are welcome).

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in New Jersey.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• 1–3 years of PTA experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans and adjust as needed based on progress.
• Conduct and document assessments like strength, ROM, balance, and motor function.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, massage, and traction as prescribed.
• Educate patients through prescribed therapeutic activities with clarity and care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation for all patient interactions.
• Communicate progress with supervising therapists and staff.
• Support clinic flow and assist with operational needs and patient transitions.
• Engage in professional development and organizational projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans, adjusting as necessary based on patient progress
• Conduct and document assessments such as strength, range of motion, balance, and motor function
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, massage, and traction techniques as prescribed
• Educate and guide patients through prescribed therapeutic activities with care and clarity
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation for all patient interactions
• Communicate observations and patient progress with supervising therapists and clinical staff
