Job description

Responsibilities

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) delivers quality therapy services to patients by implementing treatment in accordance with the established treatment plan to achieve goals and maximize functional outcomes in both inpatient (IP) and outpatient (OP) settings. The PTA provides care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and actively participates in discharge planning. The PTA is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Physical Therapy.

Services are delivered within an interdisciplinary team approach, including the patient and significant others, in compliance with CommonSpirit, St. Joseph's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Kinesiology, Applied Science, or a related Physical Therapy field
• Licensed by the State of Texas as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association
