Job summary

Fairlawn Health and Rehabilitation of Cascadia in Gresham, OR is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team of five clinicians in a well-equipped facility.

Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, you will assist residents with mobility, implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and document care. We offer full-time hours, competitive pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
  • Oregon PTA license required (we cover cost if needed).
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Six-month experience in a long-term care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with ambulation and mobility under supervision.
  • Implement therapy plans involving manual exercises and device use.
  • Monitor progress and report to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Educate residents in daily living activities and recovery routines.

What You’ll Do:

Under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you’ll support patients recovering from injury or illness by implementing treatment plans that promote mobility, strength, and pain relief.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting residents with ambulation and physical mobility.
  • Implementing therapy plans involving manual exercises, strength training, and the use of assistive devices.
  • Monitoring patient progress and reporting to the Physical Therapist.
  • Educating and encouraging residents in daily living activities and recovery routines.
  • Documenting care accurately and timely in-patient records.
  • Promoting safety, cleanliness, and adherence to infection control protocols.
  • Supporting continuity of care and the therapy team’s treatment goals.
  • Maintaining legal, regulatory, and accreditation compliance.
  • Staying current with best practices through continued education and training.

Education
  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program
Licenses/Certification
