Job summary

Regency Laurel Hill in Grants Pass, Oregon, is seeking a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to support patient rehabilitation under supervision. The role emphasizes direct patient care, collaboration with the therapy team, and adherence to established treatment plans.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Follow Plan of Care to assist patients with exercises and gait training.
  • Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and nurse.
  • Instruct patients, families, and caregivers on therapy activities.
  • Visit patients per Plan of Treatment and document daily notes.
  • Collaborate with supervising Physical Therapist to develop treatment plans.
  • Adhere to Therapy Standards of Practice and ensure patient safety.
  • Assist PT with procedures and tests as needed.

You Will
  • Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
  • Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT, the supervising nurse, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
  • Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient.
  • Visits patient according to Plan of Treatment; complete a daily note for each visit.
  • Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment as needed with communication with the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Adheres to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services to all patients.
  • Reports to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patient’s progress, complication, and /or response to treatment
  • Assist Physical Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatment to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients

You Currently
  • Possess a degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
  • Possess, prior to, onboarding and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in assigned State.
  • Must be able to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
  • Must be able to work independently with periodic (daily or less) support and direction.
