Job summary

Regency Care of Rogue Valley in Grants Pass, OR seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to provide direct patient care under a Physical Therapist. The TA will follow the treatment plan defined by the supervising PT and assist with plan changes as needed.

You will work with patients, families, and care teams to support rehabilitation goals, complete daily notes, and participate in treatment planning within an in-house therapy model that emphasizes quality of care.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
  • Ability to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
  • Ability to work independently with periodic support and direction.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
  • Observes, records, and reports patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT, nurse, and/or physician.
  • Instructs patients, families, caregivers, and other health care team members in therapy areas to enable participation in care.
  • Visits patients according to the Plan of Treatment and completes a daily note for each visit.
  • Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment with input from the supervising PT.
  • Adheres to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services to all patients.
  • Reports patient progress, complications, and responses to treatment to the PT.
  • Assists PT in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatments to ensure safe/effective evaluation and treatment.

The Staff Physical Therapist Assistant assumes clinical responsibility in an assigned facility. This is a professional position with the primary responsibility of direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist. Additional duties of an administrative nature are to be performed as assigned.Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, is at all times responsible to follow all state-specific laws governing the provision of physical therapy in-home care, to follow the treatment set only as defined by the Physical Therapist; to perform only those procedures that he/she is qualified and trained to perform and to make all recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Physical Therapist.
You will:
  • Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
  • Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT, the supervising nurse, and/or the physician the patient's response to treatment and changes in the patient's condition.
  • Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in the areas of therapy in which they can participate to assist the patient.
  • Visits patient according to Plan of Treatment; complete a daily note for each visit.
  • Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment as needed with communication with the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Adheres to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services to all patients.
  • Reports to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patient’s progress, complication, and /or response to treatment
  • Assist Physical Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatment to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients

You currently:
  • Possess a degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
  • Possess, prior to, onboarding and maintain a current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in assigned State.
  • Must be able to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
  • Must be able to work independently with periodic (daily or less) support and direction.
