Job summary

Summit Physical Therapy in West Virginia seeks a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for orthopedics and a thirst for continued knowledge and growth.

You will assess patients to develop treatment plans, review referrals and medical records, provide direct patient care under a Physical Therapist, document progress, and support high standards of patient care and timely records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• West Virginia license and CPR certification.
• Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment.
• Basic PC skills including EMR, database software, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in assessing patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Assist in reviewing physician referrals and patient records to determine PT treatment.
• Provide direct patient care under supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Support in ensuring patient care meets standards by assistants and rehab technicians.
• Assist in completing written plans of care, developing goals, and contributing to programs to attain goals.
• Support in implementing PT treatment programs and providing essential PT treatments.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers under supervision.
• Assist in timely documentation: daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for orthopedics and a thirst for continued knowledge and growth.

• Assist in assessing patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on the evaluation results

• Assist in reviewing the physician's referral (prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, following established protocols and patient care guidelines

• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers

• Support in ensuring patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians meets standards

• Assist in completing written plans of care, developing goals based on evaluation findings, and contributing to comprehensive programs to attain goals

• Support in implementing physical therapy treatment programs and providing essential physical therapy treatments

• Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies, under the guidance of a Physical Therapist

• Assist in ensuring timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. New graduates are encouraged to apply; we’d love for you to start your career with us!

• Current state of West Virginia license and CPR certification

• Ability to work efficiently/effectively in an autonomous environment

• Basic PC skills and knowledge, including but not limited to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, database software, and MS Office.
