Job summary

Windsor Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Windsor, NC is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) - PRN to provide comprehensive PT services under supervision, in a long-term care setting. This role supports the rehabilitation team and helps ensure quality patient care in a facility-focused environment.

The ideal candidate is a graduate with a BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy, holds current licensure/registration, and is capable of assisting the PT with patient assessments,

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited university with a BA or Associates degree in Physical Therapy that is recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current license and/or registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient’s daily participation and progress on progress note in an accurate and timely fashion, and obtain the co-signature of the PT.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertification's and discharges.
• Cover other duties and participate in meetings as needed and as indicated by supervision.
• Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with coworkers, facility staff, patients and families.

Qualifications:

Job Responsibilities:

1. 1.Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under the supervision of a PT according to state practice guidelines.
2. 2.Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.

5. 5.Assist with other documentation requirements as indicated and according to state guidelines.
6. 6.Attend facility and rehab meetings when indicated by Supervisor.
7. 7.Act as a rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
8. 8.Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
9. 9.Complete billing and bill patients ethically and accurately for physical therapy services rendered.
10. 10.Cover other therapists’ patient caseload during absence as necessary.
11. 11.Supervise junior PTA staff members or students as needed.
12. 12.Maintain professional relationship with co-workers, facility staff, patients and patient families.
13. 13.Provide in-service education regarding patient care or physical therapy services to rehab staff, facility staff, hospitals and/or community as needed.
14. 14.Comply with all facility safety policies and procedures.
15. 15.Comply with patient confidentiality and Federal Resident Rights.
16. 16.Report to work on time, adhere to scheduled hours and project a professional image at all times.
17. 17.Adhere to productivity requirements.
18. 18.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by demonstrating and communicating in a professional manner so as to foster positive relations with customers, clients, co-workers and managers.
19. 19.Perform all other duties assigned by the department Supervisor, Lead Therapist or Regional Manager.
20. 20.Comply with all Facility policies re: lunch, sick and time off notification.
21. 21.Adhere to any and all other Facility written and oral policies and procedures.
