Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support the treatment plan under a Physical Therapist’s supervision. You will administer and monitor therapeutic exercises, transfers, gait training, and related interventions in alignment with the PT plan.

This primarily outpatient role includes occasional inpatient coverage to support patient care across settings. State licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant and CPR within 90 days are required.

Expected pay for this position is $27.26- $32.06/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist, assists in administering the Physical Therapists' treatment plan. Administers and monitors patient's response to therapeutic exercises, transfer training, gait training, and other treatments in accordance with the physical therapists treatment plan.

This primarily outpatient position includes occasional inpatient and in-hospital coverage to support patient care across multiple settings.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy

Licensure/Certifications:

• State license as Physical Therapist Assistant
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire

Skills/knowledge:

• Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills to work well with others and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other treatment team members when gathering and exchanging patient condition information.
• Analytical ability to identify and report changes in patient's condition to a physical therapist.
• Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Valid driver's license
