Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment interventions.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function.
• Provide training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, documenting the results of the training.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Support individuals' treatment plans by documenting and reporting status changes to the multi-disciplinary team members as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions.
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health.
• One year of experience preferred.
• New graduates encouraged to apply.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Capability to perform moving, lifting, or transferring of patients, which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures.
• Must have fine motor skills, good visual acuity, and be able to walk/stand for extended periods.
• Additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent repositioning.
• A health screening or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on location policy and regulations, to verify physical capability of performing duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
