Job summary

The Center at Parmer in Austin, TX is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to provide therapy services under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist.

Responsibilities include observing patients, helping develop and coordinate care plans, preparing equipment, and communicating progress. Must hold a current PTA license and CPR certification, pass a background check and drug test; roughly 1 year of SNF experience preferred. Competitive pay and daytime hours.

  • 1 years' experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.

  • Recommend modifications of changes in the patient's therapy program based on evaluation of progress.
  • Ensure that all therapy notes are informative, descriptive and follow Company's policy and procedures.

Job Description

Provide physical therapy services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, regulations to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be maintained at all times.

QualificationsEducation, licensure, certifications, and experience:
  • Must possess a current and valid PTA license.
  • Must possess a current and valid CPR certification.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident's condition.
  • Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements, and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
