Responsibilities

• Assisting the Physical Therapist in the implementation of treatment interventions
• Administering therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function
• Providing training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and documenting results
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records
• Supporting individuals' treatment plans by documenting and reporting status changes to the multidisciplinary team
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health
• One year experience preferred; new grads encouraged to apply
• Ability to lift 50 pounds; capable of moving, lifting, or transferring patients involving lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
• Fine motor skills, visual acuity, and ability to walk/stand for extended periods
• Physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent positioning
• A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on location policy and regulations
