Job summary

Henry Ford Genesys Hospital - Grand Blanc, MI in-patient rehab unit seeks a Physical Therapist for a full-time day shift with a sign-on bonus. The role involves evaluating patients, developing and revising plans of care, and delivering therapy in Rehab and related units.

Qualified candidates have a PT bachelor’s with 5 years of experience or a CAPTE-accredited Master’s/Doctorate, and current MI licensure or eligibility within 30 days; BLS required within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Physical Therapist bachelor degree with 5 years of experience OR Master’s/Doctorate from CAPTE-accredited program.
• Current State of Michigan licensure or eligibility within 30 days of applying.
• BLS Provider certification from AHA or American Red Cross to be obtained within 3 months of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.
• Establishes, revises, and evaluates a plan of care with patient/family involvement.
• Performs therapy interventions using standard PT techniques relevant to each patient.
• Oversees activities of PT assistants, students, and support personnel.

** GENERAL SUMMARY:** **

Evaluates and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs. Primarily in Rehab, but some crossover to Inpatient therapy is possible.

Responsibilities:

• Performs initial and on-going assessments of patients' conditions.
• Establishes, revises, and evaluates a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient/family.
• Performs therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of each patient.
• Oversees activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

** EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**

• Physical Therapist bachelor degree with 5 years of experience OR Master's/Doctorate degree acquired from a Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

• Current State of Michigan licensure. Will consider those who will be licensed within 30 days of applying.
• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross. obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
