Job summary

ST. CHARLES HEALTH SYSTEM in Bend, OR seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate, plan and provide rehabilitation as prescribed by a physician. You will work with the Rehabilitation team to help patients regain mobility and function.

The role requires a current Oregon PT license, CPR/BLS, and at least one year of therapy experience. You may drive the rehabilitation van and participate in interdisciplinary care conferences.

Qualifications

• Must hold licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Oregon State Board of Health.
• Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to travel to St. Charles Health System worksites.
• Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification.

DEPARTMENTAL SUMMARY The Rehabilitation Department provides therapy and nursing services to patients, families and patient's caregivers including: Rehabilitation Nursing Care, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. Our department operates as a system department and provides services to Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility and Outpatient settings across four campuses. Our Rehabilitation departments offer a variety of specialty services across the various services delivery areas.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and provides treatment and rehabilitation as prescribed by a referring physician. Works with family and team members regarding patient's abilities and goals.

This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

• Adheres to Oregon State Physical Therapy Licensing Board.
• Provides physical therapy evaluation and treatment to achieve desired outcomes.
• Provides staff consultation and training.
• Provides community resource knowledge and referral services.
• Provides physical therapy services to other hospital service areas.
• May be required to drive Rehabilitation van and meet all related SCHS vehicle policy requirements.
• Functions as a member of the Interdisciplinary Care Team to assure patient care is accomplished effectively and efficiently in a cost effective manner.
• Participates in clinical care conferencing.
• Gathers data and accurately documents information in a timely manner demonstrating compliance with departmental and professional regulations.
• Participates with team members in facilitating patient's and family's learning throughout continuum of care. Reinforces patient's continued health care through teaching and/or referral to community agency follow-up.

EDUCATION:

Required : Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Required : Must have necessary requisites for licensure as a Physical Therapist by the Oregon State Board of Health. Valid Oregon driver's license and ability to meet St. Charles Health System driving requirements. Ability to travel to business functions/trainings/meetings and all St. Charles Health System worksites. Current AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification.

EXPERIENCE:

Required : Must have one year experience with therapy procedures, current orthopedic and neurological follow-up procedures, and rehabilitation practices.

Preferred : Previous physical therapy experience in hospital-based setting.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
