Job summary

Baylor University Medical Center’s Physical Therapists provide care to patients through evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning to maximize functional level. Therapists work within the Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, a joint venture with Select Medical, delivering services to patients while employed by Select Medical.

Responsibilities include evaluating and treating patients, documenting and coding accurately, educating patients and families, supervising staff,

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Physical Therapy Program.
• Acute Care experience preferred.
• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or (OT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

• Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
• Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers and members of the medical care team.
• Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
• Dispenses knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues.
• Maintains awareness of system goals and aligns personal goals.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist provides care to patients through evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, patient education and discharge planning to maximize the patient's functional level.

Essential Functions Of The Role

• Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.
• Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Knows about reimbursement related to practice setting.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family and staff.
• Supervises ancillary staff, students and volunteers.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence-based practice.
• Dispenses knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns personal goals and work activities to uphold or impact the system goals.

• Must possess good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, patient's family members and facility staff.

• Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
