Job description

The Physical Therapist 2 (PT 2) reports to the Director of Therapy for the JV Rehabilitation Hospital Physical Therapy team. The PT 2 serves UC Davis Health as a journey-level therapist, with two or more years of experience as a licensed physical therapist and experience working in various clinical settings.

• California Licensed Physical Therapist (PHYSTHER)
• Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy
• Several years of clinical experience in Physical Therapy
• Knowledge and skill in patient care practices, principles, and techniques related to area of expertise
• Clear written and oral communication skills to provide information, explanations, and instructions to individuals with varying levels of understanding, including those who are ill, distressed, or non-English speakers
• Interpersonal skills to create a welcoming environment, demonstrate compassion, maintain professionalism, and negotiate effectively
• Ability to remain composed, efficient, and customer-focused during peak workloads, interruptions, tight deadlines, and challenging interactions
• Problem-solving skills to independently identify issues, utilize resources, develop solutions, and ensure resolution
• Decision-making skills to exercise delegated authority appropriately and seek assistance when needed
• Discretion to maintain patient confidentiality and uphold a respectful, professional environment

Department Description

The UC Davis Rehabilitation Hospital provides intensive rehabilitation services aimed at restoring patients' functional capacity and preparing them for discharge. This role involves direct patient care at the hospital.

• Salary or Pay Range: $67.18 (Shift differential may apply)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Availability to work 2 weekends and 2 weekdays per month, including at least 1 prime holiday (e.g., Friday after Thanksgiving, Dec 24, Dec 26) and 4 additional UC holidays annually.

• This critical position requires a background check and drug screening. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of these checks, including criminal history, identity verification, and drug testing.
