Job summary

Rehab Associates, partnered with Barren Ridge PT, is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist in Central Virginia. The role offers a $10k sign-on bonus and relocation assistance, with AI-powered documentation and a 12+ month mentorship program.

We support clinicians across 19 outpatient clinics, offering competitive pay, profit sharing, and ongoing education. You’ll assess patients, plan care, and document progress while managing a diverse caseload.

Qualifications

• Assess patients and develop/initiate treatment plans per evaluation results.
• Review physician referral and patient records to determine PT treatment.
• Provide direct patient care per protocols/guidelines.
• Document findings, progress and instructions to patients/caregivers.
• Oversee care by assistants/rehab techs as needed.
• Create and implement a plan of care with goals and a comprehensive program.
• Execute PT treatment programs and essential therapies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation including notes and reports.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients and develops and initiates treatment plans based on the evaluation results.
• Review the Physician's referral (Prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required.
• Provides direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines.
• Documents findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Completes a written plan of care, develops goals based on evaluation findings, and develops a comprehensive program to attain goals.
• Implements physical therapy treatment program and provides essential physical therapy treatments.
• Communicates effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies.
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.
• Current Virginia Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.
• Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
• Comfortable working independently while effectively managing a diverse patient caseload.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
• Proficient with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
