Job summary

Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, TX seeks a Physical Therapist to help patients regain mobility after illness, injury, or surgery. The role includes assessments, prescribed exercises, and early mobilization, with a focus on education and discharge planning for safe transitions from hospital care.

Location is Weslaco, Texas, with a 8-hour daytime shift from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Sign-on bonus of 10,000 is available for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Education or work experience in physical therapy, including musculoskeletal or cardiopulmonary care.
• Active state PT license and BCLS certification.
• Must meet licensure and hospital policy requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultative and therapeutic services to restore function and prevent disability in patients.
• Perform duties in accordance with hospital policy and regulatory requirements.

Full-Time | Days | 8 - Hour Shifts | 8:00am - 4:00pm

The Physical Therapist (PT ) will help patients regain mobility and function after illness, injury, or surgery through assessments, exercises, and early mobilization. They also assist with pain management, educate patients and families, and support discharge planning to ensure safe transitions after hospitalization.

• Provides medically prescribed consultative and therapeutic services in order to restore function and prevent disability in patients with musculoskeletal, cardiopulmonary and/or integumentary disorders.
• The Physical Therapist I performs responsibilities in accordance with Physical Therapy/Hospital Policy, state and federal regulatory licensing and accrediting requirements.

• Bachelor/ Masters/ Doctorate/Certificate degree in Physical Therapy
• Current state Physical Therapy license
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
