Under the supervision of the Director of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Director, the Staff Physical Therapist provides physical therapy to residents and supervises the Physical Therapy Assistant(s) and Physical Therapy Aide(s).

PHYSICAL THERAPIST (PT)

SHIFT: Per-Diem

Responsibilities

• Develops and applies physical therapy modalities, provides therapeutic exercises, and functional training with ADLs.
• Provides gait and balance training using specific equipment.
• Documents progress and develops patient/resident program modifications.
• Assists with evaluative techniques, participates in care planning, and performs other duties to enhance the health and quality of life of residents/patients.

Requirements

• New York State Physical Therapist licensure.
• CPR certification.
• Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs.
• Able to collaborate with various healthcare disciplines and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Thorough knowledge of occupational therapy's educational and therapeutic values, and understanding of administration, organization, and management procedures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; genuine concern and empathy for the elderly.
• Ability to perform tasks while maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness.
