Job summary

Kulanu Academy in New York seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic services to students, develop goals, track progress, and communicate with parents. The role involves planning and delivering treatment for students with disabilities, conducting evaluations, and maintaining compliant records.

The therapist will work in alignment with NYS regulations, support school communities, and participate in multidisciplinary collaboration. Physical strength to lift 50 lbs is required.

Qualifications

• Provide comprehensive services for students with disabilities.
• Develop and implement screening procedures to identify students needing corrective instruction.
• Use observation, conferences with staff and various assessment techniques to make evaluations.
• Plan and deliver treatment for students with deficiencies in individual and small group settings.
• Provide regular evaluation of students to determine effectiveness of services.
• Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with administration, instructional staff, students and parents with the school and community.
• Adhere to NY State rules and regulations, school’s policies and procedures and contractual obligations.
• Be able to lift a min. of 50 lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The Physical Therapist is responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Provide comprehensive services for students with disabilities


• Develop and implement screening procedures following rules, regulations, and procedures to identify students who need corrective instruction.


• Use observation, conferences with staff and various assessment techniques to make evaluations.


• Plan and deliver treatment for students with deficiencies in individual and small group settings.

• Accurately produce all records and reports as required by law and regulation or by school.


• Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with administration, instructional staff, students and parents with the school and community.
