Job summary

The Consortium of Jewish Day Schools is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide therapeutic services to students by developing functional goals, tracking progress, and communicating with parents.

The role includes screening, evaluations, planning and delivering treatment in individual and small group settings, and maintaining required records in compliance with NYS regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience providing therapeutic services to students with disabilities.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Familiarity with New York State rules and regulations for school-based services.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive services for students with disabilities.
• Develop and implement screening procedures following rules, regulations, and procedures to identify students who need corrective instruction.
• Use observation, conferences with staff and various assessment techniques to make evaluations.
• Plan and deliver treatment for students with deficiencies in individual and small group settings.
• Provide regular evaluation of students to determine effectiveness of services.
• Accurately produce all records and reports as required by law and regulation or by school.
• Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with administration, instructional staff, students and parents with the school and community.
• Adhere to the New York State rules and regulations, school’s policies and procedures and contractual obligations.
• Be able to lift a min. of 50 lbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
