Job summary

Avant Rehabilitation & Care Center in Trenton, NJ is hiring a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to support our physical therapy team in delivering high‑quality care to residents.

The role focuses on assisting the PT with therapy sessions, following safety procedures, maintaining patient comfort, and ensuring clean, safe therapy areas. The position offers competitive pay and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant in New Jersey.
• Clinical experience in rehabilitation environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the PT in following safety standards established for the physical therapy department.
• Follow established departmental policies and procedures, including an appropriate dress code.
• Be alert for resident safety during all therapy.
• Comply with the Facility's established safety precautions.
• Assist in using safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving residents.
• Assist in ensuring physical therapy practices comply with current regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the PT in following safety standards established for the physical therapy department.
• Following established departmental policies and procedures, including an appropriate dress code.
• Be alert for resident safety during all therapy.
• Comply with the Facility's established safety precautions.
• Assist in using safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving residents.
• Assist in ensuring physical therapy practices and procedures comply with current applicable regulations.
• Following established infection control procedures and standard and universal precautions when performing duties.
• Assist in ensuring the safety and comfort of the resident while going to and from the therapy room or area.
• Assist in ensuring that the therapy area is maintained in a clean and safe manner for resident comfort and convenience by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties or services.
• Following reporting procedures when observing hazardous conditions or equipment.
• Wearing personal protective clothing when performing services that involve potential exposure to blood or body fluids.
• Reporting missing and illegible labels or SDSs to your supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Unencumbered license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of New Jersey
