Tacoma, WA is a beautiful port city along Puget Sound and just 32 miles southwest of Seattle.

Opportunity for an in-house Physical Therapist to join the rehab department.

Responsibilities for Physical Therapist:

1. Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA standards of practice as well as state standards.
2. Develop Plan of Treatment for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members, and required patient and caregiver involvement.
3. Implement Plan of Treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress.
4. Document patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.
5. Evaluate mobility, strength, and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable.
6. Report patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, facility staff and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients.
7. Develop a plan for patients following completion of their Plan of Treatment with appropriate in-home care services.
8. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
9. Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean, orderly, and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy.
10. Perform daily documentation and billing.

Requirements and skills:

1. Proven working experience as a Physical Therapist.
2. Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of Physical Therapy.
3. Hands-on experience with computer programs.
4. Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities.
5. Professional behavior.
6. Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
7. Valid license to practice Physical Therapy.
