Job summary

P4 Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to provide coverage in our outpatient clinic. You will assess patients, develop and initiate treatment plans, and document progress to meet individualized goals.

Requirements include graduation from a CAPTE-accredited program, current Alabama state license or ability to begin licensing promptly, and CPR certification. Outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred, with strong communication and teamwork valued highly.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Review the physician's referral and patient records to determine required PT treatment.
• Provide direct patient care by established protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Complete a written plan of care, goals based on evaluation findings, and a comprehensive program.
• Implement physical therapy treatment program and provide essential therapies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries.

Job Description

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on the evaluation results
• Review the physician's referral (prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required
• Provide direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians
• Complete a written plan of care, develop goals based on evaluation findings, and develop a comprehensive program to attain goals
• Implement physical therapy treatment program and provide essential physical therapy treatments
• Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports

Qualifications

• Graduate (or soon to be) from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapist program
• Current state license or the ability to begin the licensing process promptly
• CPR certification
• Outpatient orthopedic experience, including exercise, manual-based skills, and sports rehabilitation, is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Strong multi-tasking abilities to manage the clinic effectively
• A self-starter with a mindset for achieving growth and success
• A passion for providing quality patient care with a positive and compassionate approach
