Summary:

The Physical Therapist performs evaluations, develops treatment plans, and administers therapies to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent disability following disease, injury, or loss of a body part. The therapist helps patients achieve their maximum performance levels according to the prescribed Plan of Care by the provider. All care is provided based on standards established by the American Physical Therapy Association.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  1. Education: Graduate of an APTA-accredited Physical Therapist program required.
  2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state license as a Physical Therapist required or in compliance with the state practice act. Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care require a valid Driver's License with a vehicle covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.
  3. Experience: One year of experience in hospital, long-term care, home, school system, or outpatient Physical Therapy department preferred.
