Job summary

Sunny Days Sunshine Center, Inc. is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide home-based early intervention services for infants and toddlers in California. You will assess development, coach families, and deliver care in the child’s natural environment within home, daycare, and community settings.

Join a multidisciplinary team with a sign-on bonus, flexible schedules, mileage reimbursement, and benefits. Prior pediatric EI experience and CA license required; bilingual Spanish a plus.

Qualifications

• Pediatric/ Early Intervention experience preferred.
• CA PT license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments and PT services using the Parent Coaching Model.
• Follow IFSP and collaborate with families to meet developmental goals.
• Use family-centered coaching to build caregiver skills and progress.
• Provide services in home, daycare and community settings.
• Prepare progress reports bi-annual.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and state/federal laws.

Sunny Days of California, Inc. specializes in the area of early intervention, serving children with developmental needs from birth to three years of age. Sunny Days is a nationwide agency and has programs throughout the state of California. Our programs are multidisciplinary, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy, as well as child development services.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide physical therapy services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon)
• Follow each child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach their specific developmental goals
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure that progress is generalized
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual)
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (in accordance with HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations)

Requirements:

• California Physical Therapy (DPT) license
• Pediatric experience required (Early Intervention experience preferred)
• Strong clinical & interpersonal skills
• Bilingual in Spanish a plus!
