The City of Round Rock is seeking a Physical Therapist to oversee the Strength and Fitness team in the Parks and Recreation Department. This role involves designing programs to promote active lifestyles and guiding community members in wellness and injury prevention. Successful candidates will hold a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and possess licensing as required by the State of Texas.

Posted range is the starting salary ($78,624.00 - $98,300.80). Pay rate offered is based on experience.
Description
Under minimal supervision, the Physical Therapist oversees the Strength and Fitness Team for the Parks and Recreation Department by providing direction and guidance to help the team create and design classes and programs to assist citizens in staying active for a healthy lifestyle.
Examples of Duties
Provides oversight and direction for the Parks and Recreation Department’s Strength and Fitness team, including hiring and training.
Assists in training facility personnel on the proper use of all fitness equipment.
Teaches facility personnel and members the importance of exercise, stretching and building flexibility for lifetime mobility and injury prevention.
Offers guidance on nutrition, hydration and overall wellness.
Participates in community outreach and education programs.
Provides education on injury prevention and performance enhancement.
Offers guidance on movement prevention and performance to department personnel and the community.
Suggests post and preventive treatment plans.
Performs manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises.
Collaborate with other fitness professionals and the public on a healthy lifestyle and injury prevention.
Experience and Training
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree.
Two (2) years working with professionals and athletes, and orthopedic and sports physical therapy.
Certificates and Licenses Required
Physical Therapy License issued by the State of Texas or currently licensed by another state meeting the eligibility requirements for the licensure in the State of Texas.
Certification in CPR, AED and First Aid.
