Job summary

Clark Fork Valley Hospital in Plains, MT is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist to join our rehabilitation team. You will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and administer therapies to restore function and ease pain according to physician orders.

Montana PT licensure (or eligibility), CEUs, and strong communication are required. Day shifts, 36–40 hours weekly, with a full-time benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Current Montana Physical Therapist license (or eligibility) and ongoing CEUs per MT APTA guidelines.
  • Broad clinical knowledge and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
  • Strong communication, evaluation, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and determine physical therapy treatment required.
  • Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on evaluations.
  • Administer and adjust manual exercises and physical agents.
  • Instruct and assist patients in home treatment and use of assistive devices.
  • Coordinate with physicians and staff to integrate therapy into overall care.

Job description

Position- Physical Therapist

Clark Fork Valley Hospital is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Physical Therapist (PT) to join our rehabilitation team. This position is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering physical therapy treatments prescribed by a physician, with the goal of restoring function, relieving pain, and preventing disability in patients suffering from physical impairments or conditions affecting muscles, nerves, joints, and bones.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Reviews Physician's referral (prescription) and patient's condition and medical records to determine physical therapy treatment required.
  • Tests and measures patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
  • Plans and prepares written treatment program based on evaluation of patient data.
  • Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
  • Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various physical activities and in use of assistive and supportive devices such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administers treatments involving application of physical agents and use of Aquatic therapy as appropriate.
  • Evaluates effects of treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Administers myofascial mobilization and lymph mobilization if adequate training has been accomplished.
  • Administers traction to relieve pain.
  • Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enters information into computer.
  • Instructs patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Evaluates, fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends modification to Orthotist.
  • Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.
  • Orients, instructs, and directs work activities of assistants, aides, and students.
  • Plans and conducts lectures and training programs on physical therapy and related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program. CurrentMontana Physical Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure) Good physical and mental health, with the ability to demonstrate and promote wellness practices. Must maintain required CEUs per Montana APTA guidelines, with a focus on community and patient care needs. Broad clinical knowledge and willingness to work with a diverse patient population.Strong communication, evaluation, and documentation skills.Team-oriented and patient-centered mindset

Schedule- Day Shift 36-40 hrs/ Weekly Compensation :$79,000 - $125,000 DOE
