Job summary

Shriners Children's in California is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team. The therapist evaluates and treats inpatients and outpatients, from infants to adolescents, delivering family-centered care and coordinating with the multidisciplinary team.

Job Description

Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team. The Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluation and treatment of inpatients and outpatients including infants, toddlers, school age and adolescent children. Interacts with families and children of all ages in an age appropriate manner in order to foster a family-centered care environment. Supervisory responsibilities of physical therapist, occupational therapists, recreational / child life therapists, rehabilitation aides, students, and volunteers as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides comprehensive compliant and safe clinical care demonstrating the philosophy of family centered care, a commitment to the achievement of optimal patient outcomes in alignment with the standards of practice of their professional organization.
  • Works with medical staff and the multidisciplinary team to design and implement individualized plans of care to meet the needs of the pediatric patients and their family.
  • Functions as a team member and develops leadership skills through activities such as: mentoring, and providing education to students and other professionals.
  • Supports the ongoing development and improvement of the department through participation in special projects, performance improvement and facility committees.
  • Responsible for professional growth and development through ongoing education and research in alignment with hospital’s patient care and strategic direction.
  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge in changes related to scope of practice, coding/billing practices, compliant documentation and any other knowledge related to the compliant practice in a revenue cycle environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Physical Therapy.
  • licensed in state of practice
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1 year physical therapy experience
  • Pediatric experience

The pay range for this position is $46.14 - $69.22/hour. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
