Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation is housed within four outpatient sites that offer a full scope of rehabilitative services for children ranging from birth to age 21 with a range of diagnoses and conditions. Our pediatric rehabilitation team operates within a collaborative, fast-paced, and patient-centered environment with the goal of working with children to maximize their potential.

Arnold Palmer Hospital Outpatient Pediatric Rehabilitation

is seeking Physical Therapist to work with patients who have impairments, limitations, varying levels of ability, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The Physical Therapist role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions toward achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client. Our physical therapy team evaluates and treats children with various neurological, orthopedic, and developmental conditions including medically complex, post-operative, and congenital malformations.

Shift: First - Full-Time

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.
• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.
• Evaluate and recommend various types of durable medical equipment including, but not limited to standers, gait trainers, and orthotics.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.
• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing using an electronic medical record.

• Maintains a positive and encouraging treatment environment.
• Demonstrates caring, honesty, and open communication with all patients and coworkers.
• Participates in Performance Improvement, program development, student supervision, assigned committees, safety, and infection control, as required.
• Practices efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment.
• Instructs and supervises supportive personnel in their duties
• Communicates and collaborates with multiple specialty healthcare providers.
• Attends rehabilitation meetings, in-services, and any patient care meetings that are required for the assignment.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelor’s degree from an approved program in physical therapy.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida.
• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Experience

Two years of outpatient pediatric experience preferred.
