Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical patient care by initiating and administering appropriate treatment, progressing patient treatment as appropriate, and carrying patient load that reflects productivity standards.
  • Evaluates patients accurately, plans appropriate treatment, sets and meets functional goals, and revises and progresses treatment program as goals are met.
  • Maintains appropriate treatment records and completes accurate daily patient charges. Completes patient records in a timely manner.
  • Maintains technical expertise through attendance and participation in continuing education activities and departmental in-services.
  • Provides instruction to patients and/or family members, as well as other healthcare providers.
  • Follows care path guidelines for patient/family education and documentation of home programs.
  • Schedules and prioritizes daily work assignments and delegates patients to RPTA or other support personnel as appropriate.
  • Assists with P.T. observers, volunteers, and students as requested by the in-charge therapist.
  • Assists with training of new P.T. employees.
