Job description

Overview

Physical Therapist position with Point Quest Group. Responsibilities and qualifications focus on pediatric physical therapy within school-based settings, including collaboration with special education teams and adherence to IEP/IFSP processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assessments & Evaluations: Assess conditions related to genetic, developmental, neurological, and orthopedic disorders using standardized tests (e.g., PDMS-2, BOT-2, GMFM).
  • Treatment Planning: Provide targeted therapy sessions focusing on range of motion, strength, postural control, balance, and functional mobility. Include use of orthotic and adaptive equipment for individuals from birth to 22 years, as outlined in IEPs. Collaborate with the special education team to develop effective IEPs and IFSPs, aligning interventions with student needs and resources.
  • Consultation & Instruction: Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and professional staff. Create and prescribe home activity programs, coach parents to support motor skill development, and serve as a district-wide PT resource through training, consultation, and hands-on support. Collaborate with medical staff and assist school personnel with PT services, while mentoring and ensuring compliance with best practices.
  • Data Collection & Documentation: Complete annual and triennial reviews, ensure ongoing support and growth, stay current with scope of practice, coding/billing practices, and compliant documentation. Complete all necessary documentation in accordance with administrative policies, state, and federal laws.
  • Time Off Management for Full-Time School Employees: Schedule time off during school breaks when possible. Time off requests reviewed and approved by the supervisor to minimize disruption to operations.
Qualifications
  • Licensure & Certifications: Current physical therapy licensure in the state where services are delivered.
  • Background Check: Department of Justice/FBI Background Check (or equivalent state or national fingerprint clearance).
