Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a pelvic health physical therapist to treat adult patients with pelvic floor and bowel dysfunction, including transgender and gender diverse individuals. The role requires a BS in Physical Therapy and at least two years in outpatient PT, with preferred pelvic floor certification and biofeedback skills.

This is a pelvic health physical therapy position supporting adult female and male patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and bowel dysfunction. This position will treat patients with pelvic floor dyssynergia and constipation, along with complex pelvic pain, pelvic organ prolapse, urinary dysfunction, and will also provide treatment and care options to transgender, gender diverse and intersex individuals.
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy.
OUTPATIENT EXPERIENCE: Two years of outpatient physical therapy experience which should include experience in one of the following specialties: Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy.
OUTPATIENT PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Experience with sEMG perineal biofeedback, 2) Dry needling certified, 3) Advanced training in pain neuroscience, 4) Additional education and training in pelvic rehabilitation and/or manual therapy , 5) specific training regarding care for transgender, gender diverse and intersex individuals and gender affirmation care, and 6) Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Women’s Health Physical Therapy.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification is required within the first 90 days of hire, thereafter an annual BLS refresher will be required. Demonstrates knowledge of human growth and development required for effective communication and care of the adolescent, adult and older adult populations.
Frequent stooping, pushing, pulling and lifting is required when moving patients and/or equipment during treatment. Due to nature of the work, good interpersonal skills and sensitivity are necessary.
Florida State licensure to practice Physical Therapy.
