Job summary

Amedisys is seeking a part-time physical therapist in Houma, LA to support home health patients. You will assess, treat and re-evaluate patients in their homes, helping them regain movement and function with individualized plans.

Responsibilities include periodic reexaminations, adjusting treatment plans and coordinating discharge planning, while maintaining compliance with licensure and CAPTE standards. Competitive benefits and flexible scheduling are provided.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy in the assigned state.
• Graduate from an accredited CAPTE-listed PT program.
• One year related PT experience for home health entry is preferred; mentoring available for less than one year.

Responsibilities

• Help patients maintain, restore and improve movement and function.
• Perform reexaminations at least every 30 days and adjust interventions as needed.
• Discharge planning and other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for helping patients maintain, restore and improve movement, activity and function.

• Provides interventions, conducts reexaminations (every 30 days, at minimum), modifies interventions as necessary, and performs discharge planning.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy specific to the state you’re assigned to work in.

• Graduate from an accredited physical therapy educational program as set by the Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).
• One year related physical therapy experience for PTs entering home health care to ensure that knowledge and skills are sufficient to safely provide physical therapy services to patients.
• If less than one year of experience, approval from regional clinical leaders is required as well as appropriate mentoring and/or participating in a residency program.
• Current CPR certification.
