Job summary

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time School-Based Physical Therapist for Griffin-Spalding, GA. You will evaluate and support students with physical therapy needs, contribute to IEP/504 planning, and deliver services to improve mobility within school settings.

Join a clinician-focused team, collaborating with educators and families, ensuring thorough documentation, and coordinating care across multiple schools. Licensed in GA and SDPT in a school environment are preferred prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the State of Georgia.
• School-based experience preferred, not required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct appropriate evaluation of students referred for related services under IDEA and prepare reports.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Participate in development of IEP/504 plans for eligible students.
• Provide direct and indirect physical therapy in education settings.
• Collaborate with other personnel regarding physical therapy and student needs.
• Delegate activities to teachers, parents, and paraprofessionals.
• Train teachers, parents and paraprofessionals in delegated techniques and equipment use.
• Travel between schools to provide services.
• Maintain records of service provided.
• Lift, transfer, and position children and equipment as necessary.
• Supervise PTA as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrator.

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by evaluating and supporting students with physical therapy needs, contributing to IEP/504 planning, and delivering services that improve mobility and access in the school environment. You’ll collaborate with educators and families, provide training and guidance, and ensure compliance through thorough documentation and coordinated care across school settings.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Physical Therapy form an accredited program
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist by the State of Georgia
• School-based experience preferred, not required
