Job summary

North Kansas City Schools EARLY EDUCATION CENTER – Gladstone, Missouri is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to support students with special needs in an educational setting.

PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist.
• Prior experience in an educational setting preferred.
• Possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical attributes necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

Reports To: Building Principal/Program Director, Director of Pupil Services, or Director of Early Childhood Educational Services.

Job Goal: To provide physical therapeutic services for special needs students.

Performance Responsibilities

• Assist students by improving, developing or restoring functions impaired or lost through illness, injury or deprivation.
• Assist students by improving their ability to perform tasks for independent functioning when functions are impaired or lost.
• Assist students by preventing, through early intervention, initial or further impairment or loss of function.
• Continue to further education by participating in staff development as required.
• Demonstrate effective human relations and communication skills.
• Adhere to good safety practices.
• Comply with all district rules, regulations, and policies.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate or acceptable.

Terms of Employment

Ten, eleven or twelve‑month year. Salary and Calendar year to be established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor.
