Job description

Responsibilities for this job include but are not limited to, administering developmental assessments and the DAYC-2 to assist in determining eligibility for First Steps, written reports detailing strength and scores that accurately reflect performance. Direct intervention with young children based on assessed needs. Engaging children on your caseload from birth to three in regular play‑based therapy interventions to facilitate age‑appropriate development in the child’s natural environment. Demonstrate a working knowledge of principles and practices of professional physical therapy and ability to apply them. In addition to this, maintain a working knowledge of the use of physical therapy materials and equipment. An ability to identify atypical behavior, maintain a positive attitude in the improvement and development and children exhibiting developmental delays with their families. An ability to interact effectively with families being empathic to cultural diversity, geographic and social norms and familiar dynamics. In addition to this, being an effective communicator both orally and written with families, agency personnel, and other professionals. Maintain daily progress notes, mileage logs, attendance records, monthly summaries, and other written assignments. Participates as requested in IFSP, meetings, and EIT meetings. Work with neighboring disciplines like OT, SI, and ST, following plans during and between sessions and requesting assessments when needed. Follow the guidelines put in play by DESE, and to take measures to ensure safety of individuals by monitoring therapist toys and equipment, ensuring that they are sanitized and in good condition. An ability to independently create a flexible and structured schedule, while meeting the needs of the families served. As a part of treatment plan, lifting or assisting to lift individuals weighting up to 45+ pounds as well as stooping, stretching, bending, and sitting on the floor/small chairs for extended periods of time.

Requirements

Minimal Experience and Training Qualifications required for this position include: Graduation from an accredited program in physical therapy and registration as a Physical Therapist with the American Physical Therapy Association. Licensed by the State of Missouri. Completion of specific First Steps Modules, reliable transportation and valid Driver’s License are required. CPR certification is required. Pediatric experience preferred.

Salary Range

Hours: 40 hours a week

Salary Range: $65,000-$70,000
