Job summary

Catholic Health Initiatives invites applications for a Physical Therapist at CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison.

The role focuses on organizing and conducting medically prescribed therapy programs to help patients reach maximum function and independence. You will evaluate and progress rehabilitation, educate patients, manage a busy caseload, develop programs with physicians, and contribute to leadership within the department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure by the North Dakota State Examining Committee of Physical Therapists.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and design, implement, and progress rehabilitation programs with clear home exercise plans.
• Ensure timely, complete, and accurate patient notes, certifications, and treatment instructions for billing.
• Explain injury/condition, treatment purpose, and rehabilitation goals to clients to ensure understanding and satisfaction.
• Manage heavy caseloads, improve personal efficiency, and assist colleagues as needed.
• Develop new programs and collaborate with physicians to stimulate referrals and improve care quality.
• Supervise students, teach classes, provide public speaking, and assist in departmental leadership.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapist, you will organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs. Every day you will help patients reach their maximum performance while learning to live within their capabilities. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, excellent customer service, contributing to a positive patient care experience.

• Patient Evaluation & Rehabilitation: Evaluates patients, designs, implements, and progresses rehabilitation programs, including clear home exercise plans

• Documentation & Billing Accuracy: Ensures timely, complete, and accurate patient notes, certifications, and treatment instructions, adhering to QI criteria and reflecting services provided for billing

• Patient Education & Satisfaction: Clearly explains injury/condition, treatment purpose, and rehabilitation goals to clients, ensuring their understanding and satisfaction with departmental care

• Workload Management & Efficiency: Demonstrates ability to manage heavy caseloads by improving personal efficiency, working extended hours when necessary, and assisting colleagues

• Program Development & Referrals: Develops new programs and collaborates with physicians to stimulate referrals, enhance relationships, and improve care quality

• Leadership & Departmental Oversight: Supervises students, teaches classes, provides public speaking, manages the department in the absence of a manager/staff PT, resolves departmental conflicts, and completes assigned reports

Where You'll Work

CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison includes the services of a 22-bed critical access hospital, a 26-bed skilled nursing facility, an attached rural health clinic, and an Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. We offer many outpatient services, including physical therapy, radiology services, laboratory services, cardiac rehabilitation, and IV treatments. Since opening in 1952, CHI St. Alexius Health Garrison has been dedicated to serving the residents of Garrison and the surrounding rural communities. The hospital is equipped with 4 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed program, and acute care services.

Pay Range

$33.63 - $48.17 /hour
