Days are 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. with rotating weekends; hospital needs determine schedule.

Qualifications

• State Licensed Physical Therapist required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of start date.
• 1+ years PT experience preferred; open to new graduates.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patient abilities and develop personalized treatment plans with physicians and care team.
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to restore movement and reduce pain.
• Monitor progress and refine therapy plans as patients advance through recovery.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of outcomes and educate patients and families on exercises and safe practices.
• Mentor therapy assistants or students and collaborate across disciplines to ensure cohesive care.

A Physical Therapist opportunity is available in Gainesville, FL at a new 90-bed acute care facility with a 30-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit, opening Spring 2026. The hospital will offer comprehensive emergency services and advanced surgical care to the Gainesville community.

The role.

In this position, you will evaluate patient abilities and develop personalized treatment plans in close collaboration with physicians and the broader care team. Day-to-day work centers on delivering evidence-based interventions to restore movement, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life, while monitoring progress and refining therapy plans as patients advance through recovery. You will maintain accurate, timely documentation of outcomes and educate patients and families on exercise programs, adaptive techniques, and safe practices that promote independence. Cross-disciplinary collaboration is central to the role, ensuring cohesive care and smooth transitions throughout each patient's recovery journey, with additional opportunities to mentor therapy assistants or students.
