Job summary

TherapySouth in Alabama is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist for our outpatient orthopaedic clinic. You will evaluate, plan, and administer physical therapy programs as referred by physicians, tailored to each patient’s needs.

You will be mentored by an experienced team, supervise PT assistants, complete patient documentation, and adapt care to a varying daily patient load. A Master’s in PT and current state license are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in an APTA‑approved physical therapy program.
• Current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Extensive standing and walking; lifting/positioning patients.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, prepare, and carry out PT programs to restore function and reduce pain.
• Complete patient documentation.
• Supervise PT assistants and support staff.
• Handle a varying daily patient load including evaluations and follow-ups.
• Assess treatment progress and adapt plans to maximize benefit.
• Instruct patients and families on home treatment procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $76,000.00 To $90,000.00 Annually

The Staff Physical Therapist is responsible for evaluating, planning, and administering programs of physical therapy as requested by referring physician and as evidenced by the patient’s needs.

Essential Functions:

• Evaluate, prepare, and carry out individually designed programs of physical therapy treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent dysfunction in patients.
• Complete patient related documentation.
• Supervise physical therapist assistants and supportive personnel for accurate and timely completion of delegated job tasks.
• Flexibility in treating a varying daily patient load including evaluations, walk-ins and follow up visits.
• Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
• Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
• Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the company.

Requirements:

• A master’s degree in an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) approved physical therapy program.
• A current license from the state Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
• Duties require extensive standing and walking.
• Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or transferring patients.
