Job summary

Jobtailor in Eureka, IL seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages in outpatient and inpatient settings. You will design and adjust comprehensive care plans, educate families and providers, and ensure accurate EMR documentation.

This role requires weekend rotation, holiday coverage, and on-call weekend inpatient work. A strong focus on orthopedic and neurologic impairments guides daily practice.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) through IDFPR required.
  • BLS certification within 30 days through AHA.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required.
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages.
  • Ability to evaluate orthopedic and neurologic impairments.
  • Ability to complete ROM, strength, and functional testing.
  • Ability to complete clinical documentation in a therapy EMR.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic taping techniques.
  • Knowledge of ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis modalities.
  • Ability to work day shifts, 3 eight-hour shifts Monday through Friday.
  • Weekend rotation every sixth weekend.
  • Holiday coverage 1-2 times per year.
  • Weekend on-call rotation for inpatient work.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients of all ages.
  • Provide services in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Perform safe patient transfers and use appropriate body mechanics.
  • Design and adjust plans of care integrating goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plans.
  • Educate patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare providers.
  • Evaluate clinical findings, impairments, diagnoses, and outcomes of care.
  • Perform examinations and select reliable, valid examination methods.
  • Screen patients to determine the effectiveness and need for therapy services.
  • Supervise and provide feedback to support personnel.
  • Complete objective testing for range of motion, strength, and daily functional tasks.
  • Complete daily documentation and charging in the therapy EMR.
  • Apply tape for stabilization, facilitation, or inhibition of movement.
  • Perform therapeutic modalities including ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis.
  • Communicate patient progress and treatment recommendations to referring providers.
  • Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and students.

Requirements
  • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy required
  • Ability to treat patients of all ages
  • Ability to evaluate orthopedic and neurologic impairments
  • Ability to complete range-of-motion, strength, and functional performance testing
  • Ability to complete clinical documentation and charging in a therapy EMR
  • Knowledge of therapeutic taping techniques
  • Knowledge of ultrasound, interferential, and iontophoresis modalities
