Job summary

Madden & Gilbert Physical Therapy in Central Pennsylvania is seeking a motivated physical therapist to join our outpatient team. You will assess patients, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and document progress for continuous care.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited college with an APTA curriculum.
• One+ years outpatient orthopedic experience preferred.
• Currently licensed in Pennsylvania and CPR certified.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans.
• Review physician referrals and patient records to determine PT treatment.
• Provide direct patient care by established protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Supervise assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
• Develop a plan of care with goals based on evaluation findings.
• Implement treatment programs and provide essential PT treatments.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation (daily notes, progress reports, discharge summaries).

Job Description

What You’ll Do:

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on the evaluation results
• Review the physician's referral (prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required
• Provide direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians
• Complete a written plan of care, develop goals based on evaluation findings, and develop a comprehensive program to attain goals
• Implement physical therapy treatment program and provide essential physical therapy treatments
• Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited college with an APTA curriculum
• One or more years of outpatient orthopedic experience within a private clinic or hospital preferred
• Currently registered and licensed in the state of Pennsylvania and CPR certified
• Outgoing and energetic personality
• Experience in exercise and manual-based skills, McKenzie skilled, and sports rehabilitation
