Job summary

U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. in Birmingham, AL is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to assess patients, develop and initiate treatment plans, and provide direct care following established protocols in outpatient orthopedic settings.

You will document findings, supervise assistants, and collaborate with physicians and insurers while contributing to a culture of care across our 15 outpatient clinics. Schedule: Monday to Friday, no weekends. Competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist program.
• Current state license or ability to begin the licensing process promptly.
• CPR certification.
• Outpatient orthopedic experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills with patients, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
• Review physician referrals and patient records to determine required PT treatment.
• Provide direct patient care by established protocols and guidelines.
• Document findings, progress and instructions to patients and caregivers.
• Supervise assistants and rehabilitation technicians responsible for patient care.
• Write a plan of care and set goals to achieve outcomes.
• Implement PT treatment programs and essential therapies.
• Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, physicians and insurers.
• Ensure timely documentation including notes, reports and discharge summaries.

Job Description

• Assess patients to develop and initiate treatment plans based on the evaluation results
• Review the physician's referral (prescription) and the patient's condition and medical records to determine the physical therapy treatment required
• Provide direct patient care by established protocols and patient care guidelines
• Document findings, progress, and instructions to patients and caregivers
• Responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians
• Complete a written plan of care, develop goals based on evaluation findings, and develop a comprehensive program to attain goals
• Implement physical therapy treatment program and provide essential physical therapy treatments
• Communicate effectively with patients/caregivers and professional colleagues, including physicians and insurance companies
• Ensure timely documentation, including daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports

Qualifications

• Graduate (or soon to be) from a CAPTE accredited Physical Therapist program
• Current statelicense or the ability to begin the licensing process promptly
• CPR certification
• Outpatient orthopedic experience, including exercise, manual-based skills, and sports rehabilitation, is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals
• Strong multi-tasking abilities to manage the clinic effectively
• A self-starter with a mindset for achieving growth and success
