Job summary

The University of Utah Health is seeking a Physical Security Systems Specialist to design, deploy, and maintain enterprise‑grade physical security systems and integrated network infrastructure. You will drive upgrades, perform testing, and develop technical documentation to support security operations.

This role may be filled at the I or II level based on education, certifications, and experience. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and relevant vendor certifications;

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s (or equivalency) with up to 2 years of directly related work experience or a master’s (or equivalency) degree.
• Placement will be based on education, experience, certifications, and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Configuration and maintenance of physical security system components under supervision, developing foundational skills in access control and basic troubleshooting.
• Assist with badge creation, access updates, and system checks following procedures, documenting work and escalating issues as needed.
• Provide engineering-level input for system upgrades and participate in deployment activities for new projects.
