Job summary

Lynker Technologies seeks a Physical Scientist to advance high-resolution regional modeling for atmospheric rivers within the UFS framework. The role involves parameterization work, model development, and collaboration with the community to enhance weather and climate predictions.

Qualifications

• The candidate must hold a Master's degree or higher in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, geophysics, applied mathematics, or a related physical science field.
• Advanced knowledge of physics parameterization for earth system modeling applications is required.
• Experience with modern programming languages and software development practices (e.g., GitHub/Git).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve PBL parameterizations for various UFS applications.
• Improve physical parameterizations and earth system model components in the UFS.
• Collaborate with community developers to advance physics for weather and climate modeling.
