Position Purpose
Under the supervision of the School Principal, to develop students' physical skills, strength, agility, coordination, teamwork, and understanding of exercise's importance for physical and mental well-being. To motivate students toward physical fitness, hygiene, and health.
Essential Functions
- Develop and administer Physical Education classes aligned with district goals.
- Teach physical fitness, rhythm and dance, coordination, agility, exercise, and sports.
- Foster leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and social skills; provide a safe learning environment; give feedback on student progress and goals.
- Assess student growth regularly and adapt instruction to meet individual needs, including students with special needs.
- Engage in professional development through seminars, workshops, or research.
- Maintain accurate records, grading, and reporting for all student activities.
- Assist with coordinating extracurricular activities, performances, and athletic events.
- Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure student conduct aligns with school and district policies; establish standards of behavior for a positive learning atmosphere.
- Collaborate with staff and participate in meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition instructional aids and supplies; maintain inventory.
- Inspect equipment and facilities for safety and functionality.
Additional Duties
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Principal or district administrators.
Equipment & Travel

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of current physical education methods and differentiated instruction.
- Familiarity with data systems and analysis.
- Understanding of relevant laws and health education principles.
- Knowledge of physiology, health, nutrition, biology, anatomy, and hygiene.
- Computer proficiency and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to self-evaluate and collaborate.

Qualifications
- State certification as a Physical Education Teacher; Health Teacher certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license or transportation capability.
- Bachelor’s degree in education; Master’s preferred.
- Successful prior teaching experience preferred.
