Responsibilities

The LifeWorks Schools are licensed specialty therapeutic day schools for students in middle and high school affected by social, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Our comprehensive educational curriculum is individualized and designed to actively engage each student throughout the day to achieve positive, pro-social behavioral and educational outcomes. We are seeking an energetic, collaborative, and experienced Physical Education Teacher to support our LifeWorks School in Levittown, PA, for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Summary of Responsibilities

1. Provide regularly scheduled health and physical education classes to students.
2. Organize, lead, instruct, and referee indoor and outdoor games.
3. Assist in sponsoring and supervising school activities.
4. Maintain an environment conducive to students' social and emotional growth.
5. Evaluate students' progress through grades and observation.
6. Manage behavior through level system, S.M.A.R.T. Program, and code of conduct.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with valid teaching certification. A Master’s degree in Education or related field, or Special Education certification, is preferred. Experience working with students with disabilities and behavioral health challenges in a school setting is highly desirable.
