Guardian Academy is seeking a Christ-centered Physical Education Teacher to guide students in PE and health classes for K–12, fostering physical fitness and biblical values. The role includes supervising activities, maintaining lesson plans, and collaborating with staff to ensure student safety.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s in education, possess an Ohio teaching license, and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills, with a flexible approach to daily school needs

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field.
  • Current Ohio Teaching License, or Permanent Non‑Tax Certification.
  • Excellent communication with students, parents, teachers, and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills and adaptability.
  • Ability to receive and apply constructive criticism.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead PE lessons for K–12 to develop fitness, skills, and health awareness.
  • Assist and co‑lead athletics for the academy.
  • Maintain lesson plans and track progress in records (FACTS).
  • Instruct Health classes for Middle/High School.
  • Model Christian character traits and maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Monitor attendance, behavior, and safety, reporting incidents as needed.
  • Collaborate with administration and staff to support student success.

At Guardian Academy, we are seeking a Christ-centered Physical Education Teacher who is called to be part of our Academy team and is skilled in helping students grow in academic excellence built upon a biblical worldview. Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and lead PE lessons for grades K-12 that help students develop their physical fitness, sports skills, and health awareness.
  • Assist and co‑lead athletics for the academy.
  • Ensure students compete to their ability level while motivating students to enjoy physical activity.
  • Maintain an inventory of PE supplies and communicate needs with administration in a timely manner.
  • Plan activities and events that make exercise‑based learning engaging.
  • Supervise practical PE lessons in both an indoor and outdoor setting.
  • Have a passion for health, physical fitness, general athletics, and education.
  • Keep lesson plans up to date within FACTS.
  • Model, demonstrate, and teach Christian character traits to students.
  • Evaluate the students’ performance, progress, and participation throughout the year.
  • Instruct Health classes for Middle School and High School.
  • Motivate and inspire students to learn while creating a friendly environment.
  • Be available to be a Study Hall monitor if needed.
  • Monitor students in a variety of educational environments including classrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, school grounds, hallways, restrooms, field trips, etc. to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Identify students’ individual needs and help resolve learning and/or personal issues while in close communication with parents.
  • Maintain order.
  • Keep attendance records.
  • Work closely with administration, staff, and other teachers.
  • To provide a positive learning experience, report incidents (student fights, suspected child abuse, suspected substance abuse, harassment, etc.) to maintain students’ safety.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and extracurricular events/activities.
  • Assist with student drop‑off, pick‑up, and lunch‑hour monitoring.
  • Refer and adhere to all guidelines, policies, and procedures outlined in our current teacher handbook.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in the education field
  • A Current Ohio Teaching License, or a Permanent Non‑Tax Certification
  • One Year of Teaching Experience
  • All Guardian Academy Staff Members will be asked to comply with both BCI and FBI background checks.
  • Excellent communication with students, parents, teachers, and staff
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Flexible in fulfilling needs of Guardian Academy when needed (i.e., covering another class if able) and adaptive to last‑minute changes
  • Demonstrate the ability to receive and apply constructive criticism.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be flexible and calm under pressure and during change
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work and complete tasks unsupervised
  • Solution‑oriented and a creative problem solver
Time Requirements
  • Monday‑Friday, 7:45am‑3:45pm (this is subject to change based on student enrollment and leadership directives)
  • Any Teacher In‑Service dates as outlined in the Teacher Handbook and annual calendar (if applicable)
  • Any Staff Meetings required by Principal or any other leader (if applicable)
  • Any mandatory orientation or extra‑curricular activity requested by the school director and/or principal (if applicable)
